Within Central Hawkes Bay an interagency partnership between government and non-government agencies exists to provide support services for at risk children, young people and their families/whānau.

The partnership is called Strengthening Families. The partnership includes the schools, the health service (community and mental health), Group Special Education of Ministry of Education, Housing NZ Corporation, Child, Youth and Family, Police Youth Aid, ACC, Inland Revenue Child Support, and Work and Income.
